GIZELLE SMITH
Sister funk queen
Recently picked up by Kenny Dope who has released her single “Working woman” on his Kay Dee label, Gizelle Smith is next big thing of today's deep funk scene. After 3 smasher 45s and a full length with much respected Hamburg-based label and live band The Mighty Mocambos, Gizelle is ready to launch her solo carrier with this new single "June". A sister funk masterpiece designated to rock the dance-floors and soon become a future classic. The single highly anticipates her solo debut album. On the flipside, Alice Russell / Thu Thoughts funk producer of the moment TM Juke pushes the track a bit forward with a more dj friendly cut. Still deep funk, still soul, still great... Not to be missed!
"Love the new Gizelle Smith cut! Even without her Mighty Mocambos, Miss Smiths busts out a positive and uplifting piece of contemporary soul music! The man like TM Juke adds a little more raw funk and trademark guitar to the soul stew beautifully too. 10/10." Dom Servini (Wah Wah 45s / Shook magazine / Echoes)
