The daughter of a musically gifted minister, Hannah Williams AKA Deep Soul's Funkiest New Diva was immersed in soulful music from the day she was born. Her first single, an independently released 45, reached out into the soul scene and drew praise from Daptone Records artists, Craig Charles on his BBC 6 radio show and various labels and promoters. Whilst recording tracks for the anticipated debut LP, Hannah Williams & The Tastemakers have also crept onto a couple of festival bills, headlining a stage at Larmer Tree Festival and flying to Italy to play the penultimate set on the main stage at Jazz Re:Found. This London-based outfit have also supported Sharon Jones & Charles Bradley among others, and are setting off on a UK tour in May to promote their debut album ahead of the festival season, where they are sure to be the biggest surprise act on any European stage.

As Hannah Williams & The Tastemakers prepare to launch their debut album, keep your eyes open for ad-hoc headlines, tense warm-up shows, radio plays and music videos before the band come out hard to reveal their all-new dirty funk set. Their debut full-length is expected to drop on Record Kicks in 2012, but until then check out the band's very limited self-produced 7" available now on the RK website until supplies run out!
