THE BLUEBEATERS (IT Blue Beat / Rock Steady) Italian Ska/RockSteady/Soul giants The Bluebeaters headline their first London concert since a sold out 2011 concert at Dingwalls. Active since 1994 with 4 studio albums and several gold records under the belt, The BB are top musicians in love with vintage Jamaican sounds: Ska, Rock Steady, Rhythm Blues and Soul. Blessed by Ken Boothe, during the last 20 years of their career they've headline festivals like Rototom Sun Splash and International Ska Fest and extensively toured. Amongst their fans, there are reggae ambassador Sir. David Rodigan, Gaz Mayall and the legendary Lloyd Knibb from The Skatalites.
HANNAH WILLIAMS & the AFFIRMATIONS (UK Soul / Funk). Blessed by Sharon Jones, Hannah Williams exploded onto the soul scene with her debut album a Hill Of Feathers in 2012. Four years after she’s back with “Late Nights & Heartbreak” the brand new album recorded, mixed and produced at Quatermass Studio in London by legendary UK producer Malcolm Catto (The Heliocentrics / Orlando Julius / Mulatu / Dj Shadow). A new producer and a new journey for Hannah Williams, as she is now backed by The Affirmations, her new super tight band from Bristol. The story of Hannah Williams seems to be written in lore from day one. Her father was a musically gifted minister, and her mother let her join the church choir at the age of 6. Hannah could read music before she could properly read words. Now she's an unstoppable force of incredible, once-in-a-lifetime talent.
TANIKA CHARLES (CA Soul / R&B). Named the “post-Drake next Canadian breakout act” by Uncut Magazine, Toronto raising star Tanika Charles will do an exclusive appearance at the 100club to present her explosive debut album Soul Run that has already been filed under one of the “heavy hitter of 2017”. The album produced among the others by Slakah The Beatchild (BBE Records), best known as a producer for his collaborations with Canadian rapper Drake, strikes a seamless balance between the warm authentic vintage Motown soul sound, yet contains a contemporary twist to it and has just received a nominee at the 2017 Juno Awards (the Canadian Grammys) for best R&b/Soul album of year. The most buzzed-about Soul singer in Toronto according to CBC network, in a few short years has transformed from an emerging solo artist to a commanding performer and bandleader, a staple in the Canadian soul scene, both on stage and off. Her touring career has seen her supporting the likes of Estelle, Haitus Kayote, Lauryn Hill and Macy Gray. Highly impressive, considering she is only just releasing her debut album to the world.
DJ CELLO (Coast To Coast clubnights). Cello celebrated 20 years of pushing ska, reggae & soul. Coast to Coast started in the west end of London in 1999, part West-Indian blues party, part 60s Soul night DJ Cello's Coast to Coast was the new scene in town packed out with all types, enjoying rare black music from the 60s.
